S32 is active and Danix has been working hard

17 May 2011

A real suprise, Avare caught a message from S32, the squeaky wheel yesterday:

S32 5473USB 2011-15-16 16:10

Al'fa 45 71 617 PUShEChNYJ 16 38 95 55

This is the first message we have heard from S32, so a great catch, many thanks to Avare. We need to do some more research into previous messages heard from S32 (if there are any) and do a little comparison with callsigns compared to S28 (The buzzer) and S30 (The pip). It seems both the pip and squeaky wheel have become much more active over the last 6 months... If only we had more dedicated listeners in Russia to cover the gaps, we often cannot hear the squeaky wheel in Europe during the day, so any Russian listeners who can help please get in contact with us on the IRC!

Danix has been working hard again, I cannot praise him enough for his recent work on the site. He is a stickler for standards and has been keeping everyone inline with file standards and keeping the site consitent in design across the pages. He is the priyom standards police. Additionally he has been working very hard on updating pages with schedules for stations, both existing stations and their upcoming schedules and defunct stations and their historical schedules. I am a great beliver in history and one of the aims of the site is to have as much of the history of previous stations in one place. So once again thanks danix for your hard work, your really helping priyom become a premier site for the following of number stations.

If your inspired by danix and want to help and become a member of the priyom.org team, please join us in IRC, the bigger the community we get together the bigger and better the site will be!

Number station activity

Well its been a busy few weeks as always with number stations, G11 and S06s have been sending messages (Will be reviewed in the podcast) I actually managed to translate a full S06 message the other day, I am slowly learning Russian this way and its a lot of fun. There have been quite a number of Emergancy action messages broadcast over the last few days as well, perhaps as many as 50 at an estimate. We have been debating if we should record and publish EAM's. They are very common and not so interesting as number stations, but I still consider them to be important. We are perhaps more afraid of extradition to America under espionage charges if we do start publishing them. But there are plenty on youTube so the debate continues. We shall see where we go with that.

Commader solo is still active over Libya too, being particulary active Sunday afternoon, but still playing the same old propagander. We featured commander solo in the last podcast, so have a listen.

Keep listening Shortwave fans, the bands are as active as ever and theres plenty we are missing. Listen, record, let us know what youve got so we can add it to the site.
