The first two digits of the ID identified the schedule. The last three were possibly decryption information. The messages were usually between 20 and 30 groups in length.[1] The transmissions were repeated 20 and 40 minutes later on lower frequencies. The first transmission could have been at either full hour, or half hour.[2]

In 1996, E01 was known to run on the following schedule.[2] Note that the transmissions did not always take place.[1] Note that these are the times used during winter time in CET timezone - for summer time, subtract one hour.

However, by the time E01 ceased, only two schedules were active - the one on Monday 20:00/20/40, and also another on Thursday 03:00/20/40.[3][4]
