Loud noise was present in the background of each transmission. E05 constantly changed its schedules, though it always started at full hour and used two parallel frequencies. Up until mid-1990s, E05 was frequently a target of jammers.
E05's main transmitter site in America was the Warrenton Training Center, Station C, while the main European site was the Egelsbach Transmitter Facility near Frankfurt, Germany. However, more sites across the world were used.
