RDL

RDL is a Russian military strategic broadcast. It can be heard on VLF and numerous HF frequencies.

The broadcast carries FSK-modulated Morse code and 50 Bd T-600 data, using the shift of 250 Hz on HF or 75 Hz on VLF. Morse messages include:

  1. "RDL RDL RDL" followed by two 5-digit groups repeated three times, followed by "K".
  2. "RDL RDL RDL" followed by a radiogram. The first group is often 11111 or 22222, while the last group is the day of the month (first 2 digits) and the group count (last 3 digits). The message ends with "K".
  3. "Monolith" messages, usually addressed to XHOP or RDL. The signals for XHOP on this network are repeated after the same signal in the XHOP network with the addition of an additional identification group. The signals for the RDL, in turn, are repeated from the VD9B network, also with the addition of an additional identification group.

The following is a non-exhaustive list of RDL frequencies, most of which are active simultaneously.
