The musical introduction comes from the 1981 album Les Chants Magnétiques by French musician Jean-Michel Jarre.
History
E09 was first heard in February 1995.[2] Two schedules were found - Monday at 18:00 UTC on 6645 kHz (+- 5 kHz), and Saturday at 08:20 UTC on 11290 kHz (+- 5 kHz).[3] The transmission times shifted an hour later for winter. This station was noted for erratic operation, with late transmissions, or even no transmissions at all.[4]
E09 sent the same messages for extended periods of time. The first message was transmitted from February to May 1995.[2]
