M13 was significantly more active than its voice counterparts. M13 transmitted every day, and constantly changed times and frequencies. All the transmissions took place in the 00:00-10:00 and 16:00-23:59 time frames. The average message length was 23 groups. The messages were repeated in one of the following patterns:[2]
- On the same day, 1 hour later, on the same frequency
- On the same day, 1 hour later, on a different frequency
- On the next day, at the same time, on the same frequeny
- On the next day, at the same time, on a different frequency
